Noise at Work is a term that refers to the safety and protection of employees around noise levels in the workplace. Hearing is one of the few abilities the body can’t restore on its own and in a work setting, if noise levels are not managed or if you haven’t at the very least established who is potentially exposed to excessive noise levels, it has serious implications for both the employee and the employer.
In the UK, the Health and Safety Executive (HSE) have set out The Control of Noise at Work Regulations 2005. All UK businesses need to comply with these regulations to ensure they protect their employees from risk to long-term hearing loss or damage.
