Gastec Standard Detector Tube System

These Gas Detection tubes are used all over the world in many refineries, chemical plants, factories and dry cleaners and many other workplaces where gas detection is very important. With the single stroke pump which draws air through a sample tube which causes an easy to read colour change which measures the gas concentration in the air which makes gas detection a whole lot easier. If you want to take a sample then it can be done quicker and easier and it will accurately measure over 500 gases and vapours for anything from Xylene to Acetaldehyde.

An absorbent material (eg. Silica gel), which is impregnated with a chemical reagent, fills the Gastec colorimetric tube. The pump is used to draw air through the tube and when in the presence of the target gas a colour change happens. The concentration of the target gas present is proportional to the length of the colour stain. Without the need for laboratory analysis the concentration can be read immediately.
