True to the principles of Castle design and development strategy, we are proud to introduce the GA2002 General Purpose Pocket Vibration Meter. Offering simple, reliable and accurate results for many types of vibration measurement plus instant Data-logging.
Reliable, repeatable and simple are three important criteria most people have when looking at taking vibration measurements. The GA2002 offers this on a plate and at a price unbeatable for what you get. This Instrument will give you all the fundamental vibration measurements in many of their variations using single key strokes. This makes it perfect for general machine and bearing vibration monitoring as well as other general-purpose vibration measurements.
The GA2002 is an industrial grade vibration level indicator featuring 3 basic parameters for acceleration (displayed in g), velocity (displayed in mm per second), and displacement (displayed in µm).
The unit has two operating ranges (Low and High), independently selectable for each parameter, with the High range giving a x10 resolution step against the Low range. For acceleration, this would give a Low Range span of 0.01 to 10g, with a corresponding High Range span of 0.1 to 100g.
These ranges are not to be confused with Low and High pass frequency filter sets that may be available on other manufacturers’ vibration instruments.
The unit has an overall tolerance of ± 1.5dB for the primary acceleration function, showing a display resolution of 3 figures with a 'floating' decimal point giving two places for readings below 10, one place for readings above 10, and no decimal place for readings at 100 or above.
There is a further ± 10% tolerance against the velocity and displacement integrator circuits. The display resolution figures for velocity and displacement are the same as for acceleration.
The unit offers two frequency weighting networks: Linear and Mechanical that can be applied independently to each parameter. Both frequency weightings are established from Castle Group’s own design, with the Mechanical filter extrapolated from international standard ISO 2954.

The uses for this instrument are far-reaching and widespread. One prime example would be a maintenance operator verifying results from a fixed monitoring system or taking measurements for maintenance prediction. Another example is a construction engineer checking that the vibration from a piling operation is not exceeding any environmental thresholds.
When you purchase a GA2002 it comes as a complete working system. There are also a number of accessories available to cover an even wider range of applications and make your GA2002 even more versatile as an every day tool.
