Manometers and pressure meters
Pressure Meters, also known as Manometers or Pressure Gauges, are handheld devices that measure and monitor pressure, typically in gases or liquids. They are essential tools in any field where pressure measurement is crucial for maintaining safety, functionality in working equipment, or compliance with standards such as:
- HVAC system testing and balancing
- Industrial process control
- Environmental monitoring
- Aerospace and automotive testing
- Scientific, medical and research equipment
- Plumbing and leak detection
Types of Manometer
Castle supply the following types of devices for pressure measurement:
Liquid Column Manometer
This measures pressure by balancing a liquid column against the pressure being measured. The height difference in the liquid column corresponds to the pressure difference between two points. These devices are commonly used in industrial, laboratory, and field applications because of their simplicity, accuracy, and ability to measure relatively low pressures.
Types include a Vertical, or U-Tube Manometer which measures the difference between two pressure points (differential pressure) of gas and air. One leg of the tube is connected to the pressure source, and the other leg may be open to the atmosphere or connected to another pressure source.
In an Inclined Liquid Column Manometer, the tube is inclined at an angle. This longer scale of measurement allows for a more precise measurement of small pressure differences.
Digital Manometers
These are modern devices that use electronic sensors to measure pressure and display the readings digitally. These portable devices are highly accurate, easy to read and avoid reliance on manometric fluids, making them ideal for quick pressure measurements in the field.
